GUWAHATI: State Innovation and Transformation Aayog (SITA) Vice- Chairman Ramen Deka inaugurated a Common Facility Centre cum Training centre on Wednesday at Lakhibazar of Baksa District under its sponsored project “Designing Climate Resillient Practices to strenthen management of Kaziranga and Manas Landscape” which was implemented by Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC), Assam. The programme was organized by ASTEC in collaboration with Baksa district administration and Manas Maozegendri Ecotourism Society.

As a part of this project ASTEC, Assam has initiated a programme on handloom promotion through a Common Facility Centre (CFC)-cum-training centre in Lakhibazar of Baksa district. The total project cost is Rs 75 lakh. Vice-Chairman Ramen Deka delivering a speech spoke on the importance of handloom and marketing potential in the region. Co-Vice Chairman Sri Dhruba Prasad Baishya who also spoke on the occasion stressed on the need of the CFC in the area. BTC Executive Member Dhananjoy Basumatary also spoke on the occasion. Dr. Pranjal Bezbarua of ASTEC delivered the welcome address.The programme was attended by Sri S. Khan, ADC Baksa, Sri Rajen Choudhury, Field Director of Manas National Park and other officials.
