JORHAT: In a two day visit to the two districts of Golaghat and Jorhat respectively, Vice- Chairman Ramen Deka visited the site for upcoming projects at Borjuri, Bokakhat on Tuesday for the upcoming project, 'Up- scaling of Livelihood: Implication through Smart Agriculture and Agri-Eco-Tourism' to be taken up by State Innovation & Transformation Aayog (SITA) along with the implementation of partner Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat. On his visit to the site, he interacted with Prof. Ranjan Das and other officials of AAU and also the inhabitants residing in the surrounding areas. He later addressed a public gathering stating that he positively hope that the project which is going to be implemented will be a success as it receives the wholehearted support of the local residents and the interest taken by the Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat. He elaborated that the mission is to be taken in a cooperative mode and its success will depend on the feeling of ownership by the farmers as well.
On Wednesday, the second day of his visit, the vice chairman Ramen Deka attended a review meeting with the vice chancellor Dr. Bidyut C Deka of Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat to review the present status of the ongoing project, 'Survey of Rural Primary Markets (Gramin Periodical Haats) in Assam'. This is a funded project of State Innovation and Transformation Aayog (SITA) which is taken up by Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat. The vice chairman while addressing the august gathering, lauded the University for all the step taken up in implementing this project and he hopes that it will get completed in due time. AAU Vice- Chancellor also spoke in the meeting. Principal Investigator Prof. Ramen Sarma gave a PPT presentation on the said project in the review meeting.
