Sivasagar creates benchmark with surplus achievements under PMUY Scheme

JOYSAGAR: With about 2,232 more free connections than the sanctioned target of LPG connections under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), the Sivasagar District Food and Civil Supply Department has been able to attain surplus achievement in the scheme meant for BPL families.

The department had prepared a list of about 30,872 BPL families of the district to allot free LPG connections. All these targeted BPL families received free LPG connections within 2017-18 and 2018-19 financial years.

After attaining 100 percent target of PMUY , the department, following the advice of Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner PG Jha, again started a surplus drive among the remaining BPL families of the district and thereby, the department additionally gave connection to about 2,232 more BPL families.
