Sivasagar DC Megha Nidhi Dahal distributed cheques to 24 widows of COVID victims

SIVASAGAR: Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Megha Nidhi Dahal distributed cheques to widows of COVID deceased persons of Sivasagar district at the Syukafa Conference Hall of the DC's Office, Sivasagar. A total of 24 widows from across the Sivasagar district received the cheque of Rs 2.5 lakh each under 'Chief Minister's COVID-19 Widows Support Scheme'.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that in addition to getting this one-time relief, the beneficiaries would also be able to avail the other schemes announced by the Assam Government. Cheques were distributed in Sivasagar to these 24 women in the second phase. Additional Deputy Commissioners Bitupan Neog and Karmadev Brahma were also present in the cheque distribution programme.
