Sivasagar DC Megha Nidhi Dahal released two special postal covers

SIVASAGAR: In conjunction with the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi, two special covers (First Day Cover) of the Indian Postal Department were released in the memory of freedom fighter Maniram Dewan and freedom fighter Tikheshwar Borgohain at the Head Post Office of Sivasagar recently. Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Megha Nidhi Dahal officially unveiled the two special covers.

In the meeting, the deputy commissioner remembered the sacrifice of the brave martyrs and freedom fighters of the freedom struggle. He expressed his opinion that it would help to keep the memory of the brave martyrs and freedom fighters forever through organizing such events.

Abdul Jalil Talukdar, Superintendent of Nalbari-Barpeta Postal Association, Additional Postal Superintendent Hiren Gogoi, Postal Inspector of Sivasagar, Khagen Bakatiyal, Simaluguri Postal Inspector Dhiren Gogoi, Head Postman of Sivasagar Post Office Rahul Gogoi, martyr Maniram Devan's great grandson Bhupen Duarah and son of late Tikheshwar Borgohain, Dilip Borgohain were present. Special coverage was given to the invited guests of the meeting.
