Sivasagar DC MS Lakshmi Priya inaugurates Vermi compost project

GAURISAGAR: A vermi compost project supported by Day-NULM and Swachh Bharat Mission(u), Sivasagar Municipal Board was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner, Dr. MS Lakshmi Priya on Saturday at Shanti Dham Ashram, Phukan Nagar, ward No-10 of Sivasagar Municipal Board. This vermin compost plant will be run by Shristi Swachhata Samiti under Mulagabharu ALF of Day-NULM. They have initiated the door-to-door collection of garbage from both residential and commercial areas under ward no. 10 since November 1, 2019. The Deputy Commissioner put forward the suggestion to start home composting in every household and appealed to everyone to use bio-degradable products only and also to work together for clean and safe environment.
