Altogether six candidates of different political parties under 95 Golaghat and 96 Khumtai LAC submitted their nomination papers in the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Monday.

GOLAGHAT: Altogether six candidates of different political parties under 95 Golaghat and 96 Khumtai LAC submitted their nomination papers in the Deputy Commissioner's office on Monday.

Former Congress minister and now Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Ajanta Neog, accompanied by North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convener Himanta Biswa Sarma and Piyush Hazarika, filed nomination papers for 95 Golaghat LAC. The party workers gathered at Arengapara bus stand and took out a mass rally which accompanied Ajanta Neog when she went to file her nomination papers.

Similarly, 95 Golaghat LAC Congress candidate Bitopan Saikia, accompanied by a large numbers of Congress workers, filed his nomination papers. Asom Jatiya Parishad (AJP) candidate Rina Saikia also filed nomination for 95 Golaghat LAC.

On the other hand, Congress candidate of 96 Khumtai LAC, Bismita Gogoi, Asom Jatiya Parishad (AJP) candidate Pawan Saikia and independent candidate Priyam Konwar submitted their nomination papers to the Returning Officer of Golaghat Revenue Circle.
