LAKHIMPUR: Six meritorious students have brought laurels to Lakhimpur district by achieving outstanding success in the Higher Secondary (HS) final examination, 2020. Out of them, three students made it to the toppers' list of the Arts Stream while the remaining three students achieved success in Commerce stream.
As per result declared on Thursday, Swagata Dutta of Genius Academy of North Lakhimpur town grabbed the 6th position in the Arts Stream while Dibya Pratim Borah of Azad Academy secured the 7th rank and Sahab Uddin of Laluk HS School bagged the 10th position. On the other hand, Piu Das of Dikrong National Junior College bagged the 4th rank in the Commerce stream and Sagina Khatoon of Brahmaputra Valley Academy secured the 9th rank while Madhusudan Sarmah got the 10th rank.
Swagata Dutta secured a total of 470 marks with 94 overall percentage. She is the youngest daughter of Niran Dutta, an employee of Public Health and Engineering Department, and Rinamoni Dutta, residents of Garehaga.
Dibya Pratim Borah, who appeared for the exam from Azad Academy, secured a grand total of 469 with 93.8 overall percentage. He is the son of Rajen Borah, a small-scale businessman, and Nirupoma Borah, who are the residents of Bahpati Purani Gaon.
On the other hand, Sahab Uddin secured 10th rank in the exam by braving all odds of an economically backward family. He is the son of Gias Uddin, resident of Laluk Karunabari who died when Sahab Uddin was studying in Class X. Since then Sahab Uddin managed his expenses by taking tuitions in the morning and evening hours. He secured a grand total of 466 marks with 93.2 overall percentage.
Piu Das who achieved 4th rank in Commerce Stream is the daughter of Lakhyan Das, a small-scale businessman, and Moni Das, residents of Bihpuriya town. She secured a grand total of 465 marks with an overall percentage of 93.
Sagina Khatoon, the 9th rank holder in the Commerce Stream, scored 452 marks with an overall percentage of 92.2. She is the daughter of Muhammad Kiyamuddin and Jainab, residents of Bengali Patti under Dhakuakhana subdivision.
On the other hand, Madhusudhan Sarmah secured 92 in English, 93 in Alternative English, 89 in Accountancy, 85 in Business Studies, 92 in Banking and 88 in Economics. He got a total of 451 marks with 92 overall percentage. He is the son of Bankotlal Sarmah, a businessman, and Kanta Devi Sarmah, residents of Bihpuriya town.
