Haflong: The Judicial Academy, Assam, in association with the District Judiciary, Dima Hasao organized a two-day Skill Development Programme for advocates, public prosecutors and legal aid counsels of Dima Hasao district at the conference hall of the District Court on November 25 and November 26.
Dr Manash Baruah, Faculty, Judicial Academy, Assam, Abhijit Bhattacharyya, District and Session Judge, Dima Hasao were the recourse persons on the first day while AK Biswas, advocate, Ipsita Borthakur, Research Officer, Judicial Academy, Assam, and Aparna Ajitsaria, Director, Judicial Academy, Assam were the resource persons for the second day. Topics for the first day were code of civil procedure-procedural aspects, Section 89, order 10 Rule 1A- Civil procedure code and for the second-day topics were ‘Deliberation of criminal law/evidence Act’ and ‘professional ethics / Advocates Act’. November 26 is the Constitution Day, as part of the programme, the Preamble to the Constitution was read out by all the participants and resource persons. More than 20 advocates, public prosecutors, legal aid counsels of Dima Hasao and also media persons also took part in the programme.
