DIBRUGARH: A skill development training programme was organized by Bal Sakha Assam at Durgapur Tea Estate, Borboruah, and New Market Harijan Colony, Cole Road, here. The training programme of Bamboo Craft was held from March 15 to March 21 and the training on making paper bags and flower (orchid) garlands for women was conducted on March 22 respectively with an objective to strengthen the economic resilience of the women.

Abinash Hazarika, a well-known entrepreneur from Jorhat facilitated the training with the objective to strengthen the economic resilience of women. 20 youths and women have participated in the training in Bamboo crafts at Durgapur TE. They learned to make bamboo trays, key and flower stands, soap cases, napkin holders, and bamboo hanging planters. 24 females were trained to make paper bags and flower (orchid) garlands for women at New Market Harijan Colony, Cole Road, on March 22. On the occasion, Saikat Patra, Chairman of the Dibrugarh Municipality Board, attended the programme at New Market Harijan Colony and encouraged the participants to capacitate themselves so that they can establish small and medium enterprises and thrive as entrepreneurs.

The programme was also attended by Dr. FU Ahmed, former Principal of AMCH and president of Bal Sakha Assam; Dr. Aditya K. Chatterjee, Secretary, Bal Sakha Assam; Srishti Gohain, Morjeena Nag and Anjushree from Bal Sakha Assam volunteered for the entire programme.
