HAILAKANDI: Under SANKALP scheme, the Hailakandi district administration has sanctioned a training programme for skill enhancement in bamboo and cane sector. Altogether 25 trainees will undergo a course duration of 42 days, which is being implemented by DICC, Hailakandi with the help of training provider Modern Cane and Bamboo Industry, Algapur. The programme was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Narendra Kumar Shah here on Wednesday. The programme kicked off with welcome address by General Manager, DICC, Susnatha Nath. Nath gave a brief explanation of the objective of the programme to the participants and also conveyed to them about the expected outcome. Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shah underlined the importance of conducting such trainings which could open up livelihood opportunities for the participants. He also encouraged the participants to diligently learn the nuances of cane and bamboo work as it has huge potential. Shah also assured to extend all possible help and co-operation in course of the training programme.
