Skill lab inaugurated in Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh

A CORRESPONDENT

DIBRUGARH: Mission Director-National Health Mission, Assam Dr M S Laxmipriya inaugurated skill lab for competency building of health care providers to deliver quality maternal, newborn and child health services, at Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh on Tuesday.

This skill lab is established in collaboration with Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, AMCH and Jhpiego through USAID supported Saksham project. The function was graced by Principal AMCH Prof. Sanjeeb Kakati, Joint Director Dibrugarh Dr Rajiv Kumar Baruah, Head of Dept. OBGY Dr Paresh Shyam and faculty & staff from AMCH & DPM Unit, NHM, Dibrugarh, Jhpiego officers from state and national level.

Users of this skill lab will be able to learn key skills around antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care in a hands-on manner, would be able to practice these skills on humanoid models and will also be learning about standard guidelines for management of various conditions.
