Skill training to 50 SHGs under Sankalp project organized in Hailakandi

HAILAKANDI: A 15-day skill training to SHG members of DAY-NULM Hailakandi for production of mosquito repellent, face wash and candle by using neem under SANKALP Project was organized. The inaugural program kicked off at a function held at Ward No.1, Saha Lane, Silchar Road here on Monday.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Narandra Kumar Shah along with ADC Deepmala Goala, Assistant Commissioner, Sari L. Lungtau, City Project Manager, NULM, Mahbubur Rahman Parvez Laskar and other officials were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, ADC, Shah said, "NULM has selected an SHG member each from 50 SHGs for innovative skill training under this program for developing entrepreneurial activities among the group members for better sustainability and upliftment of the groups."

While addressing the members of SHGs, ADC, Goala said that all the members must concentrate on training and build among themselves a master trainer for smooth implementation of the project. She also urged all the members to coordinate with City Project Manager for any issues pertaining to the 15-day skill training.

Earlier, in his welcome address, City Project Manager, Laskar, gave a brief outline of the objectives of the program to the participants and also conveyed to them the importance of conducting such trainings which could open up vistas of livelihood opportunities among the NULM SHG members.
