Smile Dibrugarh Distributed Clothes, food Among Needy children

Dibrugarh: In its maiden venture, Smile Dibrugarh, a newly-formed NGO, distributed food packets, clothes and cash prizes to the children who are deprived of such items at a function held on Sunday at Joggers Park, on the bank of the River Brahmaputra.

Smile, Dibrugarh under its ‘One Morning with Children’s Smile’ programme, also organized sports activities among the needy and deprived children of the nearby locality and awarded suitable gift hampers to the winners. The organization also distributed clothes and food packets among children assembled on the occasion.

The spokesperson of Smile, Dibrugarh, later while briefing media persons, stated that their main thrust would be the overall development of needy and deprived children so that in future these children could become an asset to the society instead of a burden. Referring to their future plan, the spokesperson said that Smile Dibrugarh would set up a school for providing free education and a retail shop where garments and day-to-day essential commodities would be available at minimum support price.
