MANGALDAI: Smile Foundation established in 2002, is a development organization impacting the lives of over 15 lakh children and their families every year.The foundation has been working in 400 projects on education, healthcare, livelihood, and women empowerment in over 2,000 remote villages and urban slums across 25 states of India. In 2021, Smile Foundation started their first Smile on Wheels (SOW) in 12 villages of Goalpara, Assam. Till today smile Foundation has impacted lives of more than 25000 individuals in Goalpara. It comprises free medical health check-up, free medicines and tests like RBS, HB, malaria etc.
Other than regular OPD’s Smile has also collaborated with different donors and conducted two Physiotherapy camps and two multi-speciality camps in Goalpara and Darrang catering more than 1000 beneficiaries.
On June 4, the Smile Fondation organized a daylong free health check up and treatment camp at Tengabari Janata Vidyapeeth High School in Darrang district and rendered their service to more than three hundred patients of the far flung rural areas and also offered medicines. Dr Vishal Deka, Dr Tonmoy Deka and Dr Ekanta Sarma assisted by nurses and pharmacists took part in the camp.
