Kokrajhar: Social Welfare Minister Pramila Rani Brahma formally launched Bodo Aronai masks prepared by Self Help Group (SHG) under Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM), Kokrajhar district on Friday at Kokrajhar Commerce College conference hall in Kokrajhar.
Minister expressed happiness and thanked the Self Help Group and the Kokrajhar ASRLM for which they have made Bodo traditional masks for coronavirus.
Talking to reporters, Bichitra Birjya Narzary, DPM, ASRLM, Kokrajhar said that in the departmental review meeting regarding COVID-19 and other related issues held at Commerce College, Kokrajhar District Mission Management Unit, Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM), Kokrajhar have distributed 40 masks made by Self Help Group (SHG) under ASRLM, Kokrajhar district to the different officers and mediapersons present in the meeting.
Narzary also informed that there were 60 SHG members of 38 SHGs who are producing masks for fullfilling scarcity of mask in Kokrajhar district and they have produced total 6,913 masks till today. They are selling mask at low rate and 300 masks have been distributed freely to the poor people.
He also said that from March 28 they have been making Aronai masks for all citizens of state and they can use mask for safety. Narzary also said that they will prepare around 50,000 to 80,000 Aronai masks and they will sell to people.
