Social worker Bongshi Dutta dies in Sivasagar

GAURISAGAR: Bongshi Dutta, a retired employee of the Indian Postal department, a resident of Dhuliapar on the outskirts of Rongghar Chariali in Sivasagar and the father of Santosh Dutta, secretary of Sivasagar Zila Xahitya Sabha passed away on Thursday night due to prolonged illness. He was 76. He was actively associated with various social and cultural organizations.

The news of his demise was widely mourned. People from various walks of life gathered at his residence and paid tributes to him. Various organizations like Dhuliapar Naamghar Samaj, Dhuliapar Raax Utsav Samaj, Sivasagar Zila Xahitya Xabha , Sivasagar Yuva Dol, Rongpur Nagarik Manch, Kalunchpar Sakha Xahity Xabha paid tributes. MP Tapoon Kumar Gogoi, litterateur Hore Krishna Deka, Jadav Sarmah, Chief Secretary of Axom Xahitya Xabha expressed their deepest condolence at the demise of the noted social worker.
