BISWANATH CHARIALI: Retired teacher, social worker and child worker Leela Upadhyay of Golia village Biswanath Chariali has been conferred on the title of 'Shishu Bandhu'.

This honour has been extended to Upadhyaya by Sadou Asam Maina Parijat. He retired from Erabari Primary School in December 2001 as headmaster. Upadhyay has been closely involved in intellectual and physical development of children for the last 20 years being associated with Biswanath Chariali Anchalik Maina Parijat, Biswanath District Maina Parijat, besides Navamallika and Suryamukhi Maina Parijat. Various organizations and dignitaries of Biswanath Chariali have congratulated Upadhyay at his success.
