Social worker Prahlad Phukan conferred 'Shishu-Bandhu' title

LAKHIMPUR: Batoti Butala Moina Parijat, Batori Butala Parijat Sangha and Salal Gaon Krira Santha of Lakhimpur district gave warm felicitations to 'Shishu-Bandhu' Prahlad Phukan on Sunday. Notably, the Sodou Asom Moina Parijat recently honoured Prahlad Phukan, the relentless child worker, retired teacher, social cum cultural activist, sport organizer, by conferring Shishu Bandhu title for 2019. He is the first and foremost winner of the prestigious title from the district.

On this occasion, Batori Butala Moina Parijat, Batori Butala Parijat Sangha and Salal Gaon Krira Santha organized a felicitation program in a befitting manner at the Sangha auditorium. The program which was chaired by former president of Batori Butala Parijat Sangha Manik Saikia began with a Borgeet presented by child artiste Shruti Bhuyan. Batori Butala Parijat Sangha president Prashanta Bhuyan explained the objective of the program which was held under the management of secretary Achinta Dutta and child activist Ratul Saikia. Organizing secretary of Sodou Asom Moina Parijat Dijen Borah, Lakhimpur district unit president Bitu Kumar Goswami, vice president Tirtharanjan Sarmah, secretary Purnanada Das Lakhimpur District Journalists' Association working president Kumud Baruah took part in the programme as guests of honour. The speakers of the programme highlighted the tremendous contributions of Prahlad Phukan towards Moina Parijat and for the betterment of the children. They laid stress on the spiritual and holistic development of the children through the leadership of Moina Parijat to build a developed society.

The children along with president Mina Phukan Gayan and secretary Hem Prabha Devi on behalf of Batori Butala Moina Parijat, president Suren Dutta and secretary Pranjal Pratim Borah on behalf of Salal Gaon Krira Santha, president Prashanta Bhuyan and secretary Achinta Dutta on behalf of Batori Butala Parijat Sangha feted Prahlad Phukan with gamosa, cheleng sadar, bouquet of flowers and citations. Lot of individuals also feted the child worker in the same programme for his achievement.
