DHEKIAJULI: The Sonitpur District Administration has imposed strict order to the citizens of Dhekiajuli to wear masks at the public places in and around Dhekiajuli Revenue Circle area with immediate effect from April 18 onwards. The order also stated that violators of the same would have to pay Rs 1,000 penalty and 3 days custodian jail. The Dhekiajuli Police on Sunday evening announced the order over loudspeaker in all the parts of Dhekiajuli area to make the public of the area aware. At the same time, the local administration also declared the postponement of the lower primary section classes of all schools of Dhekiajuli sub division. This decision was taken against the alarming rise of COVID-19 cases in the country. Meanwhile, people are in fear due to the rumors across Dhekiajuli sub division that a new lockdown would be imposed.
