Sonitpur district logs one more casualty & 78 new COVID cases

TEZPUR: One more casualty due to COVID-19 and 78 new cases were detected in Sonitpur District on Saturday. Of the 78 new cases, 70 were detected through RAT whereas eight were via RT-PCR tests. The toll tally in the district has risen to 212 during the second wave of the pandemic. Official sources said that COVID-positive patient — Rahul Ali, (eight years of age) and resident of 4 No. Chiruwani, Panchmile, Tezpur, died at a Tezpur Medical College and Hospital.Of the 6,202 tests done on Saturday, a total of 5,702 were in the RAT process, while the rest were through the RT-PCR method.
