JAMUGURIHAT: Kanyaka Skill Development Centre, a new centre initiated under the umbrella scheme of Assam Skill Development Project of the State Government, was inaugurated by Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika at Nagsankar Natya Bhavan near here on Wednesday.
Inaugurating the skill development centre, the Sootea MLA said, "Until and unless we capture the market, we cannot grow and establish our economy. We have to capture the paddy field and market then only we can compete and survive in the global world. Youths should come forward to take up agriculture."
Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika has organized many orientation and training programmes for the unemployed youths of Sootea LAC under Assam Skill Development Project so far. Rajib Narayan Kalita, programme officer of Biswanath district skill development project, carried out the proceedings of the meeting which was attended by Pranab Kumar Sarma, the Deputy Commissioner of Biswanath, as a distinguished guest.
Chief Executive Officer of Kanyaka Skill Development Centre, Moti Kumar Newar said that during the initial stage nearly 500 unemployed youths could take free training in fishery, goat keeping, cow keeping, broiler farming and nursing. A total of 300 unemployed youths from 19 village panchayats under Sootea LAC attended the inaugural session.
