SILCHAR: Claiming that he was a victim of a conspiracy hatched by a group of Congress members, Siddeque Ahmed, the controversial South Karimganj MLA said, he would move the court against Kamalakha Dey Purkayastha and Prithwiraj Sathe, the Congress observer. Ahmed, who was expelled from the Congress for allegedly violating the three-line whip issued by the party for Thursday's high voltage Rajya Sabha election, claimed that he did not vote in favour of the ruling party alliance candidate. Purkayastha, on the other hand, said that Ahmed was always an agent of the saffron party and he had been unmasked today following his treachery with the party he represented in the Assembly. Sathe had arrived from Delhi and barely he knew Ahmed, and hence he had no reason to conspire against the South Karimganj MLA, Purkayastha further argued.

Siddeque Ahmed recently made a buzz when he was seen accompanying Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his party MLAs to watch the controversial film 'The Kashmir Files'. On Thursday after being expelled from Congress, Ahmed said, watching 'The Kashmir Files' made him an enemy in the Congress circle. He however denied betraying the party and confirmed that he would move the court to prove his innocence.
