Special COVID Vaccination Drive for People with Physical Disabilities in Sonitpur

TEZPUR: The Sonitpur district administration, in association with North Assam Divyang Association, has launched a dedicated vaccination drive for disabled persons at Hem Baruah Hall today.

Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur, Bhupesh Chandra Das was present on the occasion. The drive is the first initiative of its kind in the district. The drive was participated by secretary Mridul Kumar Bora, president Jitu Nath, Riaz Ansari and members of the North Assam Divyang Association Tezpur.

The drive was held under the supervision of the Additional Chief Medical and Health Officer, Dr Phani Pathak and DIO, Dr Biman Sharma. Around 50 disabled persons were vaccinated on Thursday and this dedicated COVID vaccination centre will continue till complete coverage of the differently-abled individuals, Dr Phani Pathak said.
