Special Gaon Sabha Held In 28 MAC Constituencies of Dima Hasao

Haflong: A special gaon sabha was organized in all the 28 MAC constituencies of Dima Hasao in which a team of officials from DRDA, Agriculture, Soil Conservation and other line departments related to Jal Shakti Abhijan was present.

The officials present at different venues explained the importance of water conservation, rainwater harvesting and also rejuvenation of water bodies to the villagers. As part of the awareness drive, the villagers were informed how Dima Hasao had been identified as a water-stressed district and the Government of India had selected only this district in the entire State of Assam to achieve the objective of conservation of water. During the meeting, the Agriculture Development Officers explained in details about Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Mandhan Yojana.
