Sri Lanka Air Force team enthrals Jorhat Air Force Station

Tezpur/Jorhat, Sept 28: A team of 60 personnel from Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Performing Arts Team presented an enthralling performance of their music and dance extravaganza at Jorhat Air Force Station on Thursday. The SLAF team, flown in by a special IAF aircraft from Sri Lanka on September 26, is on a goodwill visit to various IAF bases on invitation. Air Vice Marshal Pawan Mohey, Senior Officer-in-Charge Administration, Eastern Air Command (EAC) was the chief guest on the occasion. Air Commodore SK Verma VSM, Air Officer Commanding, AF Station Jorhat along with the officers from Air HQs and HQ EAC were also present. Nearly 1,000 air warriors including their families witnessed the event.

The opening ceremony started with a Sri Lankan Magul Sera Pooja Dance followed by variety of other traditional dances, songs and musical performance. The event showcased growing harmony and cooperation between the two air forces. The team performed in Hindi, Tamil, Sinhalese and English strengthening the cultural bonds between the two countries. The team was formed in 1988 and since then has performed in various countries like Italy, France, Russia, China, Pakistan, Korea and Australia.
