TANGLA: In a bid to commemorate the 136th Janma Tithi Utsav, 2,000 disciples of Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra from various parts of the State attended the 136th Janma Tithi Utsav of eminent spiritual guru and social reformer Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra at Satsang Vihar, Tangla, in Udalguri district on Saturday.
A seminar on the ideology and philosophy of Sri Sri Thakur and universal peace was also held on this occasion. The seminar session was presided over by Santanu Narzary and was addressed by Associate Professor of Department of English, Tangla College, Khanin Boro; retired teacher Satrasingh Ramchiary; retired teacher Banamali Rabha, among others. “Satsang Vihar is a movement that promotes amity and tolerance among people, irrespective of their religious affiliations. Sri Sri Thakur’s philosophy on the values of humanity is extremely relevant in today’s world,” said a devotee, Govindo Debnath.
Special arrangements were made to distribute food among devotees. The organisation ‘Satsang’, created by Sri Sri Thakur, has its headquarters in Deoghar, Jharkhand, and Satsang Vihars and Centres spread the world over. Pertinently, the Tangla Satsang Vihar was inaugurated by Acharya Dev Sri Sri Dada way back in March 1987.
