SSB constable dies in a road accident at Rowta in Udalguri district

MANGALDAI: A general duty constable of SSB posted in Frontier HQ of SSB at Tezpur met with a tragic road accident in front of Rowta Police Station on NH 15 in Udalguri district. The deceased has been identified as Bidyut Karjee (36) of Natunpara village of Jaldapara in the Alipurduar district of West Bengal. According to Officer in Charge of Rowta Police Station, Sub Inspector Hemanta Barua, the deceased was on his way to the HQ at Tezpur to join his duty after availing leave on his Royal Enfield motorcycle bearing registration number WB 70 K 6696. As he was riding his bike for about 350 km, all of a sudden he knocked a roadside tree in front of the Rowta Police Station on the highway resulting in his death on the spot. The SSB unit at Lalpul meanwhile has taken all arrangements to send the body to his family members after the conduct of post mortem at Udalguri Civil Hospital on Monday.
