RANGIA: The jawans and officers of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) are not only guarding the borders as it is their primary duty but also contributing to the society. This was stated by DIG Jagdeep Pal Singh in a blood donation camp organized by SSB sector headquarter with the help of GMCH and Model Hospital Rangia at the Sector Headquarter campus on the eve of the 75th Independence Day on Friday.

He further said that SSB was organizing various civic and social programmes for the benefit of the people of border areas. Hundreds of jawans and officers donated blood voluntarily. The camp was inaugurated by DIG Jagdeep Pal Singh by donating blood.

Under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, an oath on 'Fit India' was taken by the jawans and officers of SSB sector headquarter. A mega plantation drive was also conducted at the sector headquarter. The officers of SSB, doctors and other dignitaries planted saplings. A cycle rally will be organized from Guwahati which will cover all the six sector headquarters, the DIG informed.
