DHUBRI: Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta visited Dhubri Medical College and Hospital and took stock of the preparation for the inaugural ceremony of the college, to be formally inaugurated virtually by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu tomorrow.
The Health Minister was accompanied by Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Anbamuthan MP, Dhubri Superintendent of Police, Abhijit Gurav Dilip, Principal of Dhubri Medical College and Hospital and other high officials. They inspected the ground and other preparedness, and an inaugural meeting was fixed at 2 PM with onscreen live digital transmission of inaugural events from Guwahati. The President of India will inaugurate the college at 3 PM, official sources said. Talking to local media persons, Health Minister Keshab Mahanta informed that classes for the first batch of medical students would start from November 15 and by the time all the formalities of admission would be completed.
