GOALPARA: "Standing with the last person and fulfilling his righteous hopes and aspirations is good governance," said Ajanta Neog, the guardian minister of Goalpara district. She was speaking at Goalpara town on the occasion of the 97th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee being observed as the 'Xu Xakhon Divas' on Saturday. Ajanta Neog paid her tribute to Vajpayee by focusing on the life and works of the former Prime Minister especially referring to the PMGSY Scheme.

The minister also emphasized on connection with the common people as the basis of good governance. Pointing out at the 'Aspirational District 'status, the minister said, "Lack of strong political leadership in Goalpara district has left behind its development. Especially the structure and construction of the PM Awas in Goalpara are not up to satisfactory."

Referring to a new joining programme to the party by the 'Desi Muslims' at Lakhipur town on the same morning, she said, "We have welcomed the 'Desi Muslims' in our party and whoever is indigenous is welcomed to our party."

Talking about the ensuing Municipality election in the district, she encouraged the party workers to work for public and win the Goalpara Municipal election for the sake of the development of the district.

"As we don't have any elected legislator, it is crucial for us to win both the Goalpara and Lakhipur Municipality so that we can bring a remarkable change in development scenario," she remarked.

Earlier the minister participated in several scheduled government programmes in presence of Deputy Commissioner Meenakshi Das Nath including the inaugural of a government sponsored rural market hub 'GOALMART' at Agia area.
