TANGLA: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, the State Bank of India on Tuesday, donated a vehicle (Mahindra Bolero) to Rural Organisation for Social Service (ROSS), an NGO based at Tangla in Udalguri district of Assam. The donated vehicle will be used by the organization for the rescue and conveyance of destitute children as well as for medical & educational purposes.
The keys of the vehicle were handed over by Swaminathan J. (MD, Risk Compliance & Stressed Assets Resolution Group) SBI, Corporate Centre, Mumbai to Lalit Boro (Executive Director, ROSS) in presence of R. S. Ramesh (CGM, SBI NE Circle) and other senior officials of SBI.
The vehicle was donated under the Corporate Social Responsibility scheme through which the State Bank of India directly extends help by way of donations to benevolent and charitable organizations, schools, hospitals etc. Swaminathan J also planted a mango sapling at the premises of the SBI Local Head Office during the event.
