LAKHIMPUR: Assam State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Ranjit Dass welcomed the Supreme Court verdict on the Ayodhya land title dispute case on Saturday.

Addressing a press meet convened at the Dhakuakhana district BJP office on Saturday evening, the State BJP president expressed the stand of the party over the issue. He said, “We welcome the verdict with warmth because it has given an end to the untoward anomalies and activities that had been taking place centering around the controversial issue. Many lobbies with vested interest took advantage of the issue.”

Quoting the statement of BJP national president Amit Shah over the issue, he further added, “It is the time to build a united India. The solution to the problem will propel the movement of the development of the nation. The verdict has not determined the victory of one side or the defeat of the other. The verdict has created an environment where there will be no dearth of understanding to establish unity and integration among the people of the nation. It has given us relief from further anomalies.”

He further opined that none should rejoice at the verdict or feel unhappiness. “We are not over the law of the nation. We all should respect and obey what the Supreme Court pronounced. Now we should pay our attention to how we can build the best nation or the best State by integrating all castes and communities,” he asserted, appealing to the people of the State and 28.80 lakh BJP activists to be involved in shaping the nation as ‘Viswa Guru’.

The BJP State president took part in several organizational meetings held under Dhakuakhana LAC on Saturday. In addition to him, P&RD Minister and Dhakuakhana MLA Naba Kumar Doley, State BJP chief organizing secretary Phani Sarmah, and other BJP leaders were present in the press meet.
