UDALGURI: A state-level symposium on Nepali language teaching-learning was held with a daylong programme at Kalaguru Bishnu Rabha College, Orang. The symposium was conducted by Asom Nepali Sahitya Sabha where Nepali language teachers have interacted with the ANSS leaders on their problems. Mr. Durga Khatiwada, the President of Asom Nepali Sahitya Sabha, presided over the symposium. Mr. Rudra Baral, the general secretary of ANSS, explained the purpose of the discussion. Kamal Sendai of Tezpur College, Tilok Sarma of Tyagbir Hem Baruah College, Daibaki Timsina of Sootea College, Krishna Prasad Bhattarai of Kalaguru Bishnu Rabha College discussed the problem of Nepali teaching and learning. They have also raised the questions on syllabus and insisted to provide economic assistance to the honorary teachers.
Dr. Khagen Sarma, the education secretary of ANSS, attended the symposium as a resource person. Mr. Dhakaram Kafle, the general secretary of Kamrup district ANSS, Mr. Dilliram Khanal, the President of Sonitpur and Mr. Gayatri Bhattarai, the President of Udalguri district, ANSS were also present. The Asom Nepali Sahitya Sabha has decided to place the language issues to the Government of Assam. The meeting has also condoled the demise of SSB jawan Neeraj Chhetri and Kalidas Sarma. The ANSS has also felicitated Mr. Jeevan Sarma, a Nepali Subject teacher of Rangachakua H S School, for his excellence in teaching. His student got the highest marks in Nepali this year in the HS final examination.
