Stolen Bikes Recovered, Four Bike Lifters Arrested by Jorhat Police

JORHAT: Jorhat Police arrested four bike lifters and recovered five two-wheelers from their possession during a routine checking in Jorhat city on Friday night, said Ranjit Chetia, the in-charge of Jorhat Sadar Police Station.

The arrested bike lifters have been identified as Biki Ahmed of Puja Dubi (Jorhat), Bhaskar Baruah alias Babu of Bhipuria (Lakhimpur), Mahendra Gogoi alias Bogai Gogoi of Habungia Gaon (Rowriah) and Junti Ali of Bokultol Kacharikhat (Golaghat).

The recovered two-wheelers are a Pulsar 220 bike bearing registration number AS 03 Y-5890, a Pulsar 120 with registration number AS 03 P 0069, a Pulsar 180 with no registration number, a Suzuki Samurai with registration number AS 05 A 0215 and a Scooty with registration number AS 03 Q 3884. Four two-wheelers were lifted from within Jorhat city while the Suzuki Samurai was used by Junti Ali. It was at first spotted by police during routine checking near the Head Post Office area under Jorhat Police Station, informed police sources. All five two-wheelers were recovered from Mahendra Gogoi’s house at Rowriah. The arrested bike lifters were produced before the CJM court on Saturday and remanded to police custody for five days, said police sources
