SILCHAR: "We are here to warn the anti-social elements that we have entered in the field and if they perform any unlawful activities then strict action will be taken against them," said Cachar Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli while speaking to the media at Katigorah on Sunday. Earlier, at Katigorah, Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli and SP Bhanwar lal Meena took part in a flag march to instill confidence among the people in view of the Assembly elections. With more than hundred SSB jawans, the senior district officials held March from Katigorah police station to Rajatila. DC Cachar spoke with the people standing alongside the road during the flag march.
The DC and SP encouraged the people to cast their votes on April 1 and also inquired whether they received any kind of threat from particular party to vote in their favor.
"The idea behind conducting this flag March was to boost the confidence level of voters, so that they can come out and cast their votes without any fear in their mind," said Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli.
"In coming days similar flag marches will be conducted in all the constituencies of Cachar District ahead of election, however no such untoward incident have been reported so far," she quipped.
