DOOMDOOMA: St Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Doomdooma felicitated its first batch of students who passed out from the school with flying colours in the HSLC Examination, 2023 at a special programme organized in the school on Saturday. Altogether 114 students appeared in the examination and out of them 99 students secured first division and 14 students secured second division. Among the students who passed in the first division, 16 students secured distinction and 25 students secured star marks.
Moreover, the number of students who secured letter marks in different subjects was 268. Akankhya Boruah topped among the successful candidates of the school with 93.8%. On the other hand, Akankhya Boruah and Manav Raj Chutia secured 100% marks in Social Science and Manav Raj Chutia , Nabajyoti Manki and Samujal Paul secured 100% marks in Advanced Mathematics.
The toppers were felicitated with a phulam gamocha and a memento each while others were felicitated with a memento each. The school management also awarded the English and Social Science teacher of the school, Abhijit Khataniar for securing maximum number of letter marks by the students in his subjects. The manager of the school Sister Martha Telen, principal Sister Laisa Varghese, teachers Jolly Wood and Abhijit Khataniar addressed the students with some motivational words. School topper Akankhya Boruah also shared her feelings. The programme was anchored by Udit Kalita, a teacher of the school while students performed a few colourful cultural items in the programme.
