MINISTER AJAY MISHRA'S EFFIGY BURNT

LAKHIMPUR: Along with the nation, protest against the killing of eight persons, including farmers, at Tikunia village of Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri district was staged in Lakhimpur district on Tuesday.
These eight persons were killed and 12-15 severely injured in Tikunia village of Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri district on October 3, after they were run over by a car that was allegedly part of a convoy of vehicles in which the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Ajay Mishra's son Ashish Mishra Teni was travelling. Some of them were killed in police fire after eruption of the protest following the incident.
Condemning the 'heinous' incident, the activists of Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) and its brother-sister organizations organized a protest meeting in North Lakhimpur town in connection with the nationwide Protest Day observed in regarding the issue. Further, the protesters burnt the effigy of MoS Ajay Mishra Teni in the town. By staging the protest, the political party activists demanded exemplary punishment to Ashish Mishra Teni and other accused persons and compensation to the deceased and injured.
