Dibrugarh: The Superintendent of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Jugananda Changmai, who is functioning as Deputy Director (I/C) and licensing authority, FCS&CA, Dibrugarh, has suspended the PDS license, bearing no. Bokul/23 granted in the name of Hira Hazarika of Majgaon under Bokel SS with immediate effect on charges of corruption in distributing rice to some beneficiaries under National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013.
During investigation conducted by sub-inspectors of the FCS&CA department, Nam Mock Khenglong and Khadgaraz Pegu, based on the complaint lodged by one Sushila Tanti of Majgaon contending that Hazarika had not issued rice to her under NFSA, 2013 since the last two years, found Hazarika guilty also of not displaying the price and stock board of TPDS articles which was tantamount to concealing the facts about distribution of TPDS rice under NFSA, 2013 and failure to submit the books of accounts of TPDS article on demand.
During suspension period, the beneficiaries of PDS license bearing no. Bokul/23 are temporarily tagged with the nearest FPS dealer Jitu Kumar Rabidas under Bokul SS for uninterrupted supply of TPDS articles to beneficiaries concerned, said FCS&CA, Dibrugarh sources.
