Superintendent of Police of Tinsukia district arrested 27 drug dealers arrested in 5 days

DOOMDOOMA: The Superintendent of Police (SP) of Tinsukia district arrested 27 drug peddlers including a woman in the past five days from July 17 and seized a huge quantity of suspected drugs from their possession. In view of large numbers of youths falling victim because of unabated sale of illegal drugs in Tinsukia district, the people were on the alert to extend all co-operation to the Police to curb the menace. The victims have been identified as Nimanta Moran, Lalit Gogoi, Suraj Dihingia and Dulal Tanti from Kakapathar, Dhunu Moran, Binod Lama, Hemanta Dihingia and Jogen Chetia from Pengeri, Bhaskar Gogoi, Rupak Buragohain, Ajay Thakuria, Abhijit Buragohain from Tinsukia. The arrested persons are Amarjit Borgohain, Akash Pratim Baruah and Deepjyoti Gohain, Nilotpal Gohain from Makum and Kanu Dutta, Sujit Singh, Jyoti Limbu, Naba Dangoria, Satyendra Moran, Thapuk Baruah, Dhrubayoti Dahotia and Dipankar Hazarika from Doomdooma and two others. According to reports, some conscious youths have opened an app to make people conscious about the menace of drugs in social media. Consequently, thousands of conscious people in the district have joined the app and launched a campaign at a fast pace to nab the culprits.
