Superintendent of Tezpur Central Jail arrested on charges of molestation

TEZPUR: Superintendent of Tezpur Central Jail, Mrinmoi Kumar Dawka was arrested on Thursday on charges of molestation and misappropriation of government (jail) property. The spouse of an inmate of the central jail recently lodged an FIR at Tezpur Sadar Police Station alleging that the Superintendent had molested her and that he had also sold certain valuable property of the jail. Based on this, case No-841/20 US 354 (A) /409 IPC P/W added Section- 376 (C) IPC was registered in Tezpur Police Station (Sadar)

Moreover, another case has been registered against the Superintendent in Tezpur Sadar Police station with the case No-1002/20 US 294,354, 342 and 506. Based on it, Tezpur Police on Thursday arrested the accused Superintendent and after his medical test he was produced in the court and sent to jail.
