'Sur-Ratna' Jajna Bezbaruah Memorial Award 2022 to be presented on October 22

NAGAON: Noted music composer and former Grade A music composer of All India Radio and Doordarshan 'Sur-Ratna' Jajna Bezbaruah Memorial Award 2022, initiated by leading cultural institution 'Gandhar' and his family members, will be ceremonially presented to noted radio artiste and singer Digen Mahanta on the 84th birth anniversary of Jajna Bezbaruah on October 22 at a function to be held at the hall of Sangeet Silpi Mancha, Nagaon.

While speaking to this correspondent here, Chandan Bezbaruah, a budding music composer and the elder son of Bezbaruah, said that the award is presented every year to a dedicated musical artiste and this time the board of jury had nominated the name of Digen Mahanta for the prestigious award. The award will be presented to him at a function to be held on occasion of the 84th birth anniversary of 'Sur-Ratna' Jajna Bezbaruah on October 22, he added.
