GUWAHATI: Assam’s Suranjana Dutta has been named the State Bank of India's next Chief General Manager (CGM). Prior to becoming the CGM, Suranjana Dutta was the general manager of SBI's Northeast Circle. She was also given a job at the Guwahati local head office.

According to reports, she began working for the SBI in 1991 as a probationary officer and has experience in a variety of financial fields, including human resources, international banking, etc. Dutta is the first Assamese female bank officer to be appointed CGM of the SBI.

Dutta is the daughter of Rabindra Nath Dutta and Neena Dutta, and she is a native of Ambikagiri Nagar in the city.

Meanwhile, State Bank of India has encouraged clients who use its locker services to contact their local branches and execute the updated or supplemented locker agreement as necessary. SBI sent the notice about the amended locker agreement through Twitter, saying, "We request our esteemed customers to contact their locker holding branch and execute the revised/supplementary locker agreement as applicable."

By 30 April, banks were required to inform all customers of the requirements, and by 30 June and 30 September, respectively, to guarantee that 50% and 75% of current customers had signed the new bank locker agreement. According to the RBI, banks must declare their compliance status on the Daksh supervisory site.

The bank will assess the annual rent based on the size of the locker and the location of the branch. Additionally, SBI charges a one-time locker registration fee of 500 plus GST for small and medium lockers and 1,000 plus GST for large and extra-large lockers.

SBI Funds Management, the largest asset manager in India, stated on Tuesday that they are bearish on stocks from a short-term viewpoint since valuations have increased above their comfort level.

"We don't have high hopes for stocks. We believe appraisals to be costly. At the unveiling of asset management firms' (AMC) annual report on the market forecast, R Srinivasan, Chief Investment Officer (CIO) - Equity at SBI Mutual Fund, stated that the market had increased significantly more than earnings had increased.
