LAKHIMPUR: The result of the test of the swab sample of a deceased person in Lakhimpur which was sent to the Regional Viral Research and Diagnostic Laboratory, ICMR, RMRC of Dibrugarh district for COVID-19 test on Thursday was reported negative for the fatal virus on Friday.
Notably, this person named Ananta Biswas (27), son of Parameswar Biswas, resident of Bejibari village under Laluk Police Station, breathed his last on Thursday morning. According to the Health Department source, the person suffered from cold and fever, due to which he underwent medical treatment at Laluk Model Hospital on Wednesday. His health condition deteriorated on Thursday morning and then he was again brought to the same hospital where he breathed his last.
After getting the swab test result, post mortem was performed in his body on Friday. Later his mortal remains were handed over to his family. On the other hand, the Lakhimpur District Health Department sent 150 more people for home quarantine on the day. With this figure, the people in the district suggested for home quarantine went up to 6,189. On the other hand, 17 people completed their 28 day long home quarantine period in the district on the day. As per report, a total of 4,289 people of the district already completed their home quarantine till the day.
