Swab tests of security personnel and drivers of BTC Administrator

KOKRAJHAR: The Joint Secretary of Health, BTC, has directed the OSD to the Administrator and the Liaison Officer of Bodoland Guest House, Kokrajhar to conduct swab test for security personnel and drivers attached to the Administrator of BTC.

In the letter to the OSC, the Joint Secretary said that one Nipun Saikia, security personnel of the Administrator, had tested COVID-19 positive recently. Other security personnel and drivers stay in Bodoland Guest House, Kokrajhar while the Administrator comes to BTC Secretariat from Guwahati. The staff and employees of Bodoland Guest House have also reportedly been asked to take swab test as precautionary measure.

Most of the employees of BTC Secretariat and Bodoland Guest House expressed fear of possible spread of the deadly virus after one security personnel tested positive. Moreover, the District Magistrate, Kokrajhar has already declared restriction on people's movement from Kokrajhar to Guwahati and Guwahati to Kokrajhar and it is still in force. However, the continuous travel of the Administrator from Guwahati to Kokrajhar and return to Guwahati has increased fear in the minds of the employees of the Secretariat and Bodoland Guest House.
