Swachhta Pakhwada 2020 kicks off at Bongaigaon Refinery

DHUBRI: Swachhta Pakhwada 2020 kicked off at Bongaigaon Refinery with the inaugural programme on Wednesday. In line with the protocol of social distancing, the event was carried out with a very small group comprising the ED & Refinery Head and Chief General Managers of BGR in attendance at the management conference hall, while others participated through online platform.

A Kalita, ED & Refinery Head, administered the Swachhta pledge to all participants. Speaking on the occasion, Kalita said that cleanliness should be maintained by all in all spheres of life. He expressed satisfaction and pride at the cleanliness culture of Bongaigaon Refinery, which he said was a role model for many industries in the region. The credit for this goes to the employees, their families and all stakeholders associated with the refinery and the township.

A presentation on 'Management of single use plastic' was given by Dr Pradip Baishya, Assistant Professor of Assam Engineering College and Government of Assam empanelled expert on Swachhta Bharat Mission, who joined the programme online.
