Swarnim Vijay Varsh to be celebrated in Udalguri

UDALGURI: The 21 Mountain Brigade Hattigore has prepared to celebrate the Swarnim Vijay Varsh of the victory of India over Pakistan in the 1971 war which led to creation of a new nation- Bangladesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 16, 2020 lit the Swarnim Vijay Mashaal from the eternal flame of the National War Memorial. The Swarnim Vijay Mashaal will arrive at Hattigore Military station on September 2, 2021. To commemorate the victory, the Army brigade will felicitate 22 ex-servicemen who had contributed to the nation during the war. Various programmes have been lined up to mark the occasion.

The Vijay Mashaal will be sent to Diglipara from Hattigore on that day. Biswajit Daimary, the Speaker of Assam Assembly, Sanjit Tanti, BTC EM, and other dignitaries will attend the commemoration ceremony.
