'Swasthya Seva Utsav' to start in Assam's Cachar district

SILCHAR: Along with rest of the State, the ‘Swasthya Seva Utsav’ will be conducted to access the quality of service providers and service delivery of health institutions in Cachar. Three-day ‘Swasthya Seva Utsav’ will be conducted from April 6 to April 8 in the Cachar district. There will be a total of 42 government hospitals including Silchar Satindra Mohan Dev Civil Hospital.

While briefing to the media at the conference hall of DC office here on Tuesday, Additional Deputy commissioner, incharge, Health, Yubaraj Borthakur, said that in the same way that the evaluators give different grades by checking the quality of reading in the schools, hospitals will also be given grades by checking the quality of health services. The evaluators themselves are patients in this case with checking the quality of the service starting from April 6 in Cachar, it will continue upto April 8.

ADC Health, Borthakur said, “Evaluators will observe the hospital services. After verification process of hospital, the evaluator will give grade percentage value. If the grade percentage value is 70 % then the hospital will be given ‘A grade’, ‘B grade’ if 50 to 69 percent and ‘C grade’ if less than 50 per cent.

ADC Borthakur said that assessment will be conducted in 15 hospitals including Satindra Mohan Dev Civil Hospital, second day in 15 hospitals and third day in remaining 12. “Positive effects are being observed in the education sector as a result of Gunotsav,” mentioned Borthakur.

The ADC Yubaraj Borthakur also said that besides local authorities and public representatives will also act as evaluators for the evaluation, 15 high-ranking officials will come from Guwahati to improve the standards. Based on the assessment, action will be taken in the hospitals after the festival to improve the hospitals as per IPHS standard.

Borthakur further said that health care festival will be held in 42 hospitals in Cachar. Apart from Silchar Satindra Mohan Dev Civil Hospital, there are 7 community health centres and more than 34 primary health centres. Hospitals are also expected to have a positive impact on services.

The basic objective of the programme is to access the health institutions, its infrastructure, human resources and quality of services to attain a level of quality of services in each health facility. Dr. PK Roy, Addl CM&HO (FW) and Dr. Gulbahar Raj District Media Expert, National Health Services of the district were present on the occasion, stated a press release.

GOLAGHAT: The Swasthya Sewa Utsav in Golaghat will be observed from April 6 to April 8. On Wednesday in a press briefing, the Joint Director in-charge of Health Services, Golaghat, Dr Ranjit Bhuyan and District Programme Manager Anuska Bora said that hospitals and health centres of the Golaghat district will be visited by high-level officials for evaluation. Altogether 50 health centres of the district will be evaluated.
