TAC election: BJP wins 33 out of 36 seats, AGP gets 2, Congress wins 1

JAGIROAD/MORIGAON: Putting an end to all speculations, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won a total of 33 seats out of 36 seats in the Tiwa Autonomous Council election-2020. While the Congress won one seat in Hojai district, the BJP's allay, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) won two seats in the TAC election. In Morigaon district, 17 seats out of total 19 were won by the BJP while the AGP won two seats.

According to the result declared on Saturday, Dulal Brahma of BJP from no.1 Jamadari constituency defeated Nandeswar Bordoloi of Congress; in no.2 Borongabari, Ankur Deuri of BJP defeated Matiram Patar of the Congress, in no.3 Bhurbandha, Binoy Konwar of BJP defeated Nitul Konwar of the Congress, in no.4 Konwargaon, Jiban Konwar of BJP defeated Dhiren Bordoloi of the Congress; in no.5 Dhekiphala, Binapani Bordoloi of BJP defeated Kalpana Patar of Congress, in no.6 Manipur, Aimoni Patar of BJP defeated Manisha Konwar Patar of Congress, in no.7 Garmari, Runamoni Boro of AGP defeated Marami Bordoloi of the BJP; in no.8 Ghagua, Mihiram Bordoloi of BJP defeated Mantu Bordoloi of AGP, in no.9 Damal, former CEM Paban Manta of BJP defeated Niraj Bordoloi of AGP; in no.10 Tatelia, Khagen Ch. Bordoloi of BJP defeated Dharma Singh Bordoloi of Tiwa Aikya Mancha; in no 11Jonbeel, Binita Doimary of BJP defeated Dipali Boro of the Congress, in no 12 Nakhola, Tulsi Bordoloi of the BJP defeated Maneswar Bordoloi of the Congress, in 13 Nellie, Khola Jiban Konwar of BJP defeated Mankhushi Deuri Manta; in no.14 Gova, Mandip Patar of BJP won uncontested; in 15 Bihubori, Pitambar Bordoloi of BJP defeated Maheswar Konwar (independent); in no.16 Solmari, Nayanmoni Deuri of BJP defeated Narottam Deka of Congress; in no.17 Bhomoraguri, Debakanta Bordoloi of BJP defeated Jiten Ch Patar(ind); in no. 18 Saripuri Chabukdhara, Morigaon MLA Ramakanta Deuri's son Madan Deuri of BJP defeated Dulal Deuri of the Congress and in no. 19 Barsola, Champeswar Bordoloi of AGP defeated Dharmendra Nath Bordoloi of the Congress.

The counting began at 8 am and ended peacefully at 5.30 pm on Saturday at Morigaon.
