Tarun Gogoi meets kin of late Siddharth Barbarua at Jorhat

Jorhat: Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi visited the Jail Road residence of Siddharth Barbarua at Jorhat on Monday morning. Gogoi, who landed at Rowriah Airport from Guwahati, went straight to the residence of late Barbarua and met the members of the bereaved family. Condoling Barbarua’s death, Gogoi expressed his heartfelt condolences. The former Chief Minister said that Barbarua could easily grasp things and had been handling his social media accounts with finesse for the past four years. Gogoi said his death was not only a great loss to his family but also a personal loss to him. Gogoi spent almost half an hour with the bereaved family members, including mother Poly Barbaruah, who happens to be the Secretary of Jorhat District Congress. Barbarua died on February 2 following a massive cardiac arrest. His last rites were performed at Tarajan crematorium on February 3. His death has been widely mourned. His adya shraddha will be performed on February 12.
